How to Protect Your Art from AI & Bots: The Solene Haus Grid System

WATCH - THE GRID SYSTEM
I have been an artist for 26 years. I have a fine art degree. I build businesses that crush broken industries, and the art industry was one that was close to me - so I had to build Solene Haus. Every piece of artwork on it is protected.
I stopped posting my art online years ago, because the bots steal it and AI steals it. What AI can do now is extraordinary compared to six months ago, and we as artists keep giving our work away for free. Other videos talk about that. This one is about The Grid.
The thing no one tells you about "just post your work online"
The second your finished piece loads on the screen, it is gone. A perfect copy of that image now sits on every device that opened the page. You cannot pull it back. You cannot unshow something that has already been seen. The full work is there, in full resolution, forever - stored on people's computers without them even having to steal it. And you gave it away for nothing, in exchange for a few likes.
Every protection trick you've been given is useless
Watermark it? They crop it off in seconds. Strip the metadata? The platforms already wiped it the moment you uploaded. Post a smaller version? A low-resolution image trains an AI model perfectly well - the machine does not need print quality, it just needs the pattern of your work. That copyright line in your caption? No scraper has ever stopped to read one.
All of that advice belongs to a world that no longer exists. The real problem is simple and brutal: if a full image ever uploads, it is already lost. Real protection cannot be about scaring off thieves after the fact. It has to stop the complete image from ever loading in the first place.
What The Grid actually does
Every artwork uploaded to the ecosystem is displayed inside a grid of separate tiles. Each tile holds a different region of the piece, laid out so the work would only become whole if every tile were sharp at the same moment. And they never are.
At rest, every tile is heavily blurred. Not softly, not artfully - heavily. Strong enough to destroy the underlying detail, not just soften it. You can feel the colour, the composition, the energy and the mood. What you cannot see is the brushwork, the fine detail, the signature. There is nothing in that blurred state anyone could lift and use.
When someone hovers or taps, exactly one tile sharpens - just that fragment. Every other tile stays blurred. Move across the piece and the sharp tile follows, one fragment at a time, while the rest stays locked behind the blur. A collector can travel across every inch of your artwork and fall completely in love with it, but at no single moment does the full high-resolution image ever exist on the screen to be taken.
This defeats every real threat
Right-click and save? They get a fragmented reference, not a reusable file. Screenshot? They capture a blurred page. Send a scraper to harvest your work for an AI model? There is nothing to harvest, because the complete image never loaded - and the blurred tiles that did are worthless for training.
And you don't have to ruin your own work to get it
This is what I am proudest of. No ugly watermark stamped across the middle of your painting. No deliberately degraded, muddy version. The Grid does not ask you to damage your art to protect it. The piece stays whole and beautiful underneath; the protection lives in how it is shown, not in scarring the work itself. The collector sees something elegant and intriguing; the thief sees nothing they can use.
Show the world your work and still keep it
This is the line everything else in Solene Haus is built on. On every other platform - the social feeds, the Shopify sites, the big marketplaces - showing your work and giving it away are the same act. You literally cannot display without surrendering it. The Grid breaks that. For the first time, you can show your art to the entire world and still keep it. Seen by everyone, owned by no one but you.
And I want to be clear about who gets this. The Grid is not a premium feature. It is not a top tier you unlock once you are already being copied. Every artwork uploaded to Solene Haus is protected by The Grid from the very first second, at every membership level. Protection is not the upsell. It is the foundation.
Artists should not have to choose between being seen and being saved. You should not have to gamble your work to get it in front of people. That was never a fair trade - it was just the only option you had. The Grid is the option you never had. Show the world your work, let collectors explore it, and keep every bit of it as yours, locked safely behind the wall of blur. That is how Solene Haus protects what you make. You can finally show without losing it.
